What have I learn so far

Hi, In Hurumanu we have learn about maths shapes. There are a lot of shapes in maths and I will tell you about the shapes.

Shapes Transformation:

  1. Reflections
  2. Rotations
  3. Enlargement
  4. Translation

This is the transformation of the shapes. This Photo with shapes is called the reflections, it's like a mirror that a shapes is in. Also this shapes is facing right so the other one is looking at left.

This transformations is called rotations, this one rotate the shapes in the other sides until it will look the same at the start. Also the rotations is an easy transformation of shapes.

This transformations is called enlargement, this one making the small to a big one. You see the triangle on the bottom, it has to turn into a big one, like that on the top it's bigger than the bottom.
This last transformation is a little bit hard to understand, this is like a shapes to change were it's standing, you see the red shape with a letter A, it's on the down in the line. Also you see the blue shape with a letter B on it, it's a box up to the other shapes. That's the translation is.

2D shapes:
  1. Square
  2. circle
The 2D shapes is a shapes with only one looking in the front, with no other sides, the photo is a 2D shapes. There are a lot of 2D shapes their are square, circle, triangle, and a lot more. I will put a picture of 2D shapes so you will know every 2D shapes.

3D shapes:
  • Sphere
  • Cube
  • Cylinder
  • Cone
  • Prism
The 3D shapes is a shapes with sides faces and vertex. Every 3D shapes has edge in their shapes, like this shapes, is a 3D shapes. This shape is called cube, it has 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertex.

The 3D circle is called sphere, the sphere is like a circle but it look like this. The shape is looking like a ball but the sphere is different from the other 3D shapes this one only has a faces, it has no edge and vertex.

Reading: Activating Prior Knowledge

Hi, In are Hurumanu we read a text, the text was called Poi.

When we read something, it's remind us the things the we did when were going somewhere and something that you did. The text is good thing to read or listen to the text.

This girl named is Mai, she went to kapa haka but she does not liked to go there, she just went their because her friends and cousin is going to the festival.

Mr Mitchell said that, the teacher is a little bit mean, cause her teacher said her to the office without a reason.

I think that to for a sec but when I almost finish the text I read the text that Mai teacher and her, they apology to each other.

When Mai went to the office, Mr Hayward, the principal of the school tell to Mai to help Ms Taiapa.

Mai don't mind helping Ms Taiapa because she is in the art room. Mai liked the room in their, their are a lot of cool things the she saw. Ms Taiapa and Mai make a poi, Mai has a lot of Ideas what materials to use on poi. Mai think of two colour to use on poi, and those colour are blue and red, but they need a blue and red plastic so they have a plan to get those materials. They make all of the student to bring a blue and red plastic, and they also made some blue and red plastics.

Reading: Activating Prior Knowledge

Hi, in Hurumanu 3  we read a story. When we read something new we are often reminded of things we already know about the text, It might be something we've done before, read about, seen on TV, or seen at the movies. This is called prior knowledge. We activate our prior knowledge to help us to understand the text better.

This text is called Jump, that's the title of the text and it's about bungee jumping. Mr Mitchell told us about the time he went bungee jumping to gave us some detail. Also he has a son and his 33 years old but he got scared and his the one who tell to go bungee jumping.

The people in this photo were going to bungee jump, the two kids and the guy with green jacket are family. The two kids were sibling and their names is Matiu and Pania, and the guy with green jacket is their uncle. When they are going up in the bungee jump Matiu stomach feel like a jelly while they are going up.

When they got in the top Matiu got scared, while his Pania and his uncle were just walking and not fearing how high they are. Matiu is scared of high, just then he want to go bungee jumping, but when he came in the top hi scared of continue to do the bungee jumping.

This text is pretty good, because it's remind me when I was going to jump in the high place on the water but I over come the fear of that high, and it's also remind me when I got scared and back down the high. The text is so amazing and they are reminding the past the happened to me.

 Hi,

My first week this term is pretty bad, because it's hard to catch up to the subject i'm learning cause I didn't understand a little bet in my subject. But it's also okay because I get to play with my friends and play sports, it's just the new subjects it's so hard for me to understand what the meaning of the words and subjects. This week 1 of term 2 is hard for me but it's okay cause I can play sports and games with my friends, also learn maths. Maths is my favourite subjects but the other subjects is not my favourite, i'm bad at the other subject expect maths.
